Am I too old for a trampoline?

Recently we have been talking about purchasing one, even going as far as calling some people on craigslist that are selling them. So to answer my own question and considering it is close to my 29th birthday, I would have to say yes...however, when do we get too old to go out and jump on the trampoline? It is great exercise and although it could lead to a closed head injury is just out right fun. I remembering learning how to do a front somersault on one behind the bleachers after swim season was over at Eastern. The tramps were set up for the divers and since our season was over, we would go up there and play. I just got done watching the trampoline jumpers on the Olympics and it made me want one even more, although the caliber that they are at is something that I could only dream of before killing myself on one! I even brought up the fact that we could dig a hole and bury it today, that way I don't have as far to fall...now we just need to purchase one. Maybe I could have a trampoline party when we get it...stay tuned.

On another note, our 5 mile run at the Blueberry festival went well on Sunday morning..maybe I am speaking for myself though. I am not sure of my official time, as they did not have a chip start, but I believe it was around 41:40 which is around 8:30/mile pace. After running all those hills in Switzerland, it was nice to run a flat course! I was incredibly tight the first few miles, but then got into a good stride. I am nervous about Saturday and the Crim, but am excited that there will be friends there from 7:11 and I also hope to run into some other people that I know are running (Abbey, Kim, Cam).

Jennie Holladay already somewhat touched on this in her blog, but I wanted to state something that really hit home for me. On Sat. night after Micheal Phelps won his 8th gold medal Bob Costas got on and talked about how it was ironic that Phelps had set out to win 8 medals, that was marked by the opening ceremonies on 8-8-08 beginning at 8 o'clock. It just hit me while he was saying that, that the first graduating class of the Global Program at U of M Flint was graduating at that same time and toasting to their success at 8:08 and 8 seconds...put that one down in the books Phelps. What an honor to have shared this with some of the neatest people that I have ever met. No one else, except those that were there, really know what that means. I don't think that I can say that I haven't had some great experiences in my life.
